Warranty Policy and Procedures

OfficeMax provides warranty services in accordance with the applicable legislation in Romania, through its service units or authorized service units of partners or manufacturers.

The products are new, in original packaging, and come from authorized sources for each manufacturer.

No warranty is provided for consumables (e.g., batteries, accumulators), accessories, and protective foils.

Legal Entities

For warranty certificates issued by OfficeMax, the warranty period is 12 months for long-term use products. The deadline for bringing products into conformity is a maximum of 30 days.

For warranty certificates issued by the manufacturer, the warranty conditions may vary depending on the manufacturer and are established in their commercial policies.

Individuals

Products sold through OfficeMax benefit from both commercial and legal conformity warranties, according to O.U.G. no. 34/2014 and Law no. 449/2003.

The non-operating time due to non-compliance within the warranty period extends the legal conformity and commercial warranty terms, and runs, as appropriate, from the moment the lack of conformity of the product was brought to the seller's attention or from the moment the product was presented to the seller/service unit until the product is brought into normal use and, respectively, from the written notification for the pickup or actual delivery of the product to the consumer.

Long-term use products that replace defective products within the warranty period will benefit from a new warranty period starting from the date of replacement.

Long-term use products that are defective during the legal conformity warranty period, when they cannot be repaired or when the cumulative downtime due to deficiencies during the legal conformity warranty period exceeds 10% of the duration of this period, at the consumer's request, will be replaced by the seller, or the seller will refund the consumer the value of the respective product.

The maximum resolution time is 15 calendar days from the date the buyer, as applicable, brought to the seller's attention the lack of conformity of the product or delivered the product to the seller or the person designated by him based on a handover document.

The product must be accompanied by:

  • The original Warranty Certificate issued by the manufacturer
  • Warranty Certificate issued by OfficeMax
  • Copy of the invoice
  • Service request number assigned after completing the Service Form

Not covered by the warranty:

  • Failures and damages caused by the beneficiary's mishandling, incorrect connection, or faulty operation and maintenance of the equipment
  • Failures and damages caused by electrical, mechanical, chemical, or atmospheric factors outside the limits provided in the technical characteristics of the equipment given by the manufacturer and in the operating instructions
  • Use of the product in applications requiring different performance and qualities than those offered by the class and purpose for which this product is intended or outside the technical specifications
  • Use of the product in inappropriate conditions (e.g., incorrect power supply voltage, absence or incorrect grounding, shock, vibration, impact, or other forms of physical abuse, use of the product in inappropriate environmental conditions – actions of chemicals, pollutants, smoke, dust, or humidity, product damage caused by weather or natural disasters)
  • Connection of the equipment to a power grid with frequent interruptions of the power supply voltage or with an inappropriate power supply voltage
  • Connection of the equipment to improvised outlets or multiple extensions
  • Intervention on the equipment by unauthorized persons
  • III. Breaking seals, identification labels, or deleting serial numbers

Failures and damages caused by force majeure are not covered. OfficeMax is not responsible for any incompatibilities that may arise between the subassemblies supplied by the seller and the products purchased by the beneficiary from other suppliers.

The product will be repaired (if the conditions in the warranty certificate are met) and returned to the customer.

Additionally, we do not provide a warranty for:

  • Products without a warranty certificate issued by OfficeMax
  • Products whose warranty period has expired
  • Products that have been sent through courier companies other than those agreed upon by OfficeMax

OfficeMax reserves the right not to respond to:

  • The duration and condition of products delivered by other courier companies than those agreed upon
  • Products shipped without a service request number
  • Products damaged during transportation due to improper packaging, assuming the original packaging of the product.

The product warranty is not transferable. OfficeMax S.R.L. has a contractual obligation only towards the holder of the purchase invoice.
