1. Our Commitment

OFFICE MAX SRL, a "Make Sense Company," is committed to protecting the environment and minimizing its impact through all its activities. We acknowledge our responsibility to present and future generations and strive to operate in a sustainable manner, respecting applicable laws and the best practices in the field.

2. Our Objectives

We aim to achieve the following environmental objectives, with a strong focus on preventing waste generation at the source:

• Preventing and Reducing Waste at the Source:
• Promoting and using internally serviceable, repairable equipment, modular devices (which allow for expansion, updates), and warranty extensions.
• Judiciously using the existing technical base to extend the lifespan of equipment.
• Using long-lasting packaging for internal use.
• Promoting the use of the original product packaging instead of personalized packaging with marketing messages, thus reducing pollution.
• Minimizing activities where we cannot individually perform in environmental protection, such as the transport of goods, in favor of collaborating with specialized professional organizations that can allocate the necessary resources for this purpose, such as courier and freight transport companies.
• Responsible Waste Management:
• Maintaining an efficient system for separate waste collection (household, packaging, WEEE, batteries, discards, waste from economic activity). Our activity does not generate textile waste. We are also implementing, in 2025, a separate collection circuit for possible textile waste resulting from our own consumption.
• Ensuring the delivery of waste to authorized economic operators for treatment and recycling, in accordance with legal provisions.
• Meeting the national (Romanian) collection and recycling targets for each category of waste generated. Our recycling objectives are limited by the existence of specialized and authorized companies on the national territory and their collection, recycling, and reporting capacity.
• Efficient Use of Resources:
• Maintaining Energy Efficiency: We are committed to maintaining the high standards of energy efficiency already achieved through the use of high-performance equipment and careful monitoring of consumption. We will continue to seek ways to optimize consumption, even in the current context of high efficiency.
• Maintaining Efficient Water Consumption: We acknowledge that we have reached an optimal level of water consumption and are committed to maintaining this level through responsible use of resources and raising awareness among employees about the importance of efficient water use.
• Rational Use of Natural Resources:
• Responsible Management of Paper Consumption: We maintain a minimum level of paper use through the practices already implemented, such as the use of electronic invoices (e-factura, the Romanian system, XML invoices) and qualified electronic signatures. We only print legal documents or those requiring a legally valid handwritten signature.
• Efficient use of fuels by optimizing transport routes (where applicable) and through regular vehicle maintenance.
• Reducing the use of packaging materials by reusing transport packaging for internal use, where possible.
• Reducing Environmental Impact:
• Minimizing greenhouse gas emissions by using low-emission vehicles and optimizing transport (where applicable).
• Preventing soil and water pollution through protection and control measures.
• Promoting a healthy and safe work environment for employees.
• Collaboration with Partners:
• Encouraging suppliers to adopt responsible environmental practices and comply with environmental standards.
• Involving customers in recycling programs (for example, through manufacturer programs such as HP Planet Partners or WEEE delivery to the Environ network).
• Raising awareness among business partners about the importance of environmental protection.

3. Our Principles

We are guided by the following principles:

• Continuous Improvement: We are committed to continuously improving our environmental performance by monitoring relevant indicators and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
• Transparency: We communicate openly with our employees, customers, and partners regarding our environmental policy and our performance in this area.
• Responsibility: Each employee is responsible for complying with the environmental policy and for their contribution to achieving the set objectives.
• Compliance: We strictly comply with the legislation in force and ensure that our activities are in accordance with legal requirements.

4. Implementation of the Environmental Policy

To successfully implement the environmental policy, we are committed to:

• Allocating the necessary financial and human resources.
• Training and raising awareness among employees about the importance of environmental protection and their role in this process.
• Periodically monitoring and evaluating our environmental performance.
• Reviewing and updating the environmental policy according to the evolution of legislation and best practices.

5. Declaration

OFFICE MAX - a Make Sense Company - assumes responsibility for the implementation and compliance with this environmental policy. We are committed to making every effort to protect the environment and contribute to a sustainable future.
